P2146 Fuel Injector Group A Supply Voltage Circuit Open

Code symptoms P2146.

– Engine misfire
– Loss of power
– Rough idling
– Decreased fuel efficiency

This code is common in brands such as:: Chevrolet, Renault, Ford, Toyota, Nissan, Mercedes Benz, Honda.

Causes of the code P2146.

1. A faulty fuel injector in Group A, causing an open circuit in the supply voltage.
2. Wiring or connector issues in the fuel injector Group A circuit, leading to an open circuit.
3. Corrosion or damage in the wiring harness or connectors related to the fuel injector Group A supply voltage circuit.
4. A blown fuse affecting the supply voltage to the fuel injector Group A.
5. A fault in the Engine Control Module (ECM) or Powertrain Control Module (PCM) related to the supply voltage circuit for the fuel injector Group A.

Code Solutions P2146.

1. Check the fuel injectors for any visible damage or signs of corrosion. Replace any damaged or faulty injectors.
2. Inspect the wiring harness and connectors related to the fuel injectors for any breaks, frays, or loose connections. Repair or replace any damaged wiring.
3. Use a multimeter to test the voltage supply at the fuel injector connector. If voltage is not within the specified range, trace the wiring back to the source to identify and repair the open circuit.
4. Check the fuel injector fuse in the fuse box. Replace any blown fuses and test the circuit again to see if the issue is resolved.
5. Reset the vehicle’s engine control module (ECM) by disconnecting the battery for a few minutes. Reconnect the battery and start the engine to see if the code P2146 has been cleared.
