Code P2145 Symptoms, Causes and Solutions.

P2145 code indicates a high voltage condition in the Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) vent control circuit of a vehicle.

– Check engine light illuminated
– Engine performance issues, such as rough idling or stalling
– Decreased fuel efficiency
– Visible smoke from the exhaust tailpipe


This code is common in brands such as:: Chevrolet, Renault, Ford, Toyota, Nissan, Mercedes Benz, Honda.

Causes of the code P2145.

1. Faulty EGR valve.
2. Wiring issues.
3. Poor electrical connection.
4. ECU malfunction.
5. Exhaust system leaks.


Code Solutions P2145.

1. Check the EGR vent control circuit wiring for any damage, loose connections, or corrosion. Repair or replace any faulty wiring as needed.
2. Inspect the EGR vent control solenoid for proper operation. Test the solenoid and replace it if it is not functioning correctly.
3. Verify that the EGR vent control module is working correctly by testing it or replacing it if necessary.
4. Inspect the EGR valve for any blockages or malfunctions that could be causing the high circuit voltage. Clean or replace the EGR valve as needed.
5. Reset the vehicle’s ECU by disconnecting the battery for a few minutes and then reconnecting it. This can sometimes clear the error code and reset the EGR system.
