P2136 is a diagnostic trouble code that indicates a discrepancy between the voltage signals from the throttle or pedal position sensor or switch A.

P2136 Throttle/Pedal Pos Sensor/Switch A C Voltage Correlation

Code symptoms P2136.

1. Engine hesitations or stalling.
2. Reduced engine power.
3. Check engine light.
4. Acceleration issues.

This code is common in brands such as:: Chevrolet, Renault, Ford, Toyota, Nissan, Mercedes Benz, Honda.

Causes of the code P2136.

1. Faulty throttle position sensor (TPS).

2. Damaged pedal position sensor.

3. Wiring issues.

4. Electronic control module (ECM) problems.

5. Mechanical obstructions.

Code Solutions P2136.

1. Inspect the throttle or pedal position sensor and switch A for any physical damage or wear and tear. Replace if necessary.
2. Verify the wiring and connections related to the throttle or pedal position sensor and switch A for any loose connections or corrosion. Repair or replace as needed.
3. Check the voltage output of the throttle or pedal position sensor and switch A using a multimeter to ensure it is within the specified range. Calibrate or replace if the readings are out of range.
4. Reset the vehicle’s engine control module (ECM) to clear any stored error codes related to the P2136 fault code. Relearn the throttle or pedal position sensor values as per manufacturer instructions.
5. Perform a road test to ensure that the throttle response and pedal position are functioning correctly after implementing the above solutions. If the issue persists, further diagnosis may be needed.
