Code P2132 Symptoms, Causes and Solutions.

P2132 is a diagnostic trouble code that indicates an issue with the throttle or pedal position sensor or switch “F” circuit registering a lower than normal voltage signal.

Code symptoms P2132.

– Engine may hesitate or stall
– Loss of power while driving
– Difficulty accelerating
– Illuminated check engine light


This code is common in brands such as:: Chevrolet, Renault, Ford, Toyota, Nissan, Mercedes Benz, Honda.

Causes of the code P2132.

1. Faulty throttle position sensor (TPS).

2. Wiring issues.

3. Corroded connectors.

4. Powertrain control module (PCM) failure.

5. Throttle body issues.


Code Solutions P2132.

1. Inspect the throttle position sensor (TPS) wiring harness for any frayed or damaged wires. Replace or repair any damaged wires as needed.
2. Check the TPS for proper adjustment and positioning. Make sure it is securely attached and properly aligned with the throttle plate.
3. Test the TPS for proper voltage and resistance using a multimeter. Replace the TPS if it is out of specification.
4. Inspect the throttle body for any carbon buildup or debris that may be affecting the TPS signal. Clean the throttle body as necessary.
5. Check for any other engine codes related to the throttle system and address them accordingly to ensure all components are functioning correctly.
