– Intermittent loss of power or acceleration

This code is common in brands such as:: Chevrolet, Renault, Ford, Toyota, Nissan, Mercedes Benz, Honda.

Causes of the code P2129.

1. Faulty throttle position sensor (TPS).

2. Wiring issues.

3. Poor electrical connections.

4. ECM software glitch.

5. Environmental factors.


Code Solutions P2129.

1. Inspect the throttle or pedal position sensor or switch for any visible damage or corrosion. Clean any debris or corrosion that may be affecting the connection.

2. Check the wiring harness connected to the throttle or pedal position sensor for any signs of wear, fraying, or damage. Repair or replace any damaged wiring as needed.

3. Perform a reset or relearn procedure for the throttle or pedal position sensor to recalibrate it and eliminate any intermittent issues with the sensor’s signal.

4. Update the engine control module (ECM) software to the latest version, as a software glitch could be causing the intermittent error code.

5. If the issue persists after the above steps, consider replacing the throttle or pedal position sensor or switch altogether to ensure a reliable connection and accurate signal transmission.
