P2106 is a diagnostic trouble code that indicates an issue in the throttle actuator control system, leading to the engine power being forcibly limited.


P2106 Throttle Actuator Control System – Forced Limited Power

Code symptoms P2106.

1. Engine power loss.
2. Reduced throttle response.
3. Rough idling.
4. Check engine light.


This code is common in brands such as:: Chevrolet, Renault, Ford, Toyota, Nissan, Mercedes Benz, Honda.

Causes of the code P2106.

1. Faulty throttle actuator control module
2. Wiring issues in the throttle actuator control system
3. Malfunctioning throttle position sensor
4. Vacuum leaks affecting the throttle control
5. Electronic control module (ECM) issues causing forced limited power


Code Solutions P2106.

1. Inspect the wiring harness connected to the throttle actuator for any signs of damage or corrosion. Repair or replace the wiring as needed.

2. Check for any loose or disconnected electrical connectors in the throttle actuator circuit. Securely reconnect any loose connections.

3. Use a diagnostic scanner to perform a throttle body relearn procedure to recalibrate the throttle actuator control system.

4. Inspect the throttle body for any obstructions or build-up that may be restricting its movement. Clean the throttle body to ensure proper operation.

5. If the above steps do not resolve the issue, consider replacing the throttle actuator with a new one to restore optimal performance.
