The P2056 trouble code indicates that the reductant injection valve circuit for bank 2, unit 2 is experiencing an open circuit condition.

Code symptoms P2056.

1. Malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) or Check Engine Light (CEL) illuminated.
2. Changes in exhaust emissions.
3. Reduction in fuel efficiency.
4. Decrease in engine performance.


This code is common in brands such as:: Chevrolet, Renault, Ford, Toyota, Nissan, Mercedes Benz, Honda.

Causes of the code P2056.

1. Faulty reductant injection valve.
2. Open circuit in the reductant injection valve circuit.
3. Corrosion or damage to the connectors in the reductant injection valve circuit.
4. Faulty powertrain control module (PCM).


Code Solutions P2056.

1. Inspect the reductant injection valve and replace if faulty.
2. Check for an open circuit in the reductant injection valve circuit using a multimeter. Repair or replace any damaged wiring.
3. Inspect the connectors in the reductant injection valve circuit for corrosion or damage. Clean or replace connectors as necessary.
4. Perform a PCM reset or reflash to clear the code. If the issue persists, consider replacing the PCM.
