The P0867 trouble code relates to a transmission fluid pressure issue. Here’s what you should know:

Code symptoms P0867.

1. Check Engine Light (CEL) is illuminated on the dashboard.
2. Transmission may not shift properly or smoothly.
3. Vehicle may experience slipping or delayed shifting.
4. Harsh or erratic shifting behavior.
5. Vehicle may go into “limp mode,” limiting speed and performance.


Causes of the code P0867.

1. Low transmission fluid level or dirty fluid.
2. Malfunctioning transmission fluid pressure sensor or switch.
3. Faulty transmission control module (TCM).
4. Wiring or connector issues in the transmission fluid pressure circuit.
5. Internal transmission problems, such as a failing pump or valve body.

1. Address any transmission fluid leaks and ensure the fluid level is correct.
2. Replace the transmission fluid pressure sensor or switch if it’s faulty.
3. Repair or replace damaged wiring or connectors in the transmission fluid pressure circuit.
