The P0856 trouble code indicates that there is an issue with the traction control input signal.


P0856 Traction Control Input Signal

Code symptoms P0856.

1. Illumination of the traction control warning light on the dashboard.
2. Traction control system may be disabled.
3. Loss of traction control functionality.
4. Possible reduction in vehicle stability during acceleration or cornering.


Causes of the code P0856.

1. Faulty traction control switch.
2. Damaged or corroded wiring or connectors in the traction control circuit.
3. Issues with the traction control module (TCM).
4. Sensor or input signal malfunction.


Code Solutions P0856.

1. Replace the traction control switch if it’s found to be faulty.
2. Repair or replace any damaged wiring or connectors in the traction control circuit.
3. Ensure proper installation of the traction control switch and secure any wiring harnesses.
4. Reset the fault codes and test drive the vehicle to verify that the issue has been resolved.
