Code P0848 Symptoms, Causes and Solutions.

The P0848 trouble code indicates that there’s a problem with the transmission fluid pressure sensor or switch “B” circuit, specifically that the circuit is reporting a high voltage. Here’s what you should know:


P0848 Transmission Fluid Pressure Sensor/Switch “B” Circuit High

Code symptoms P0848.

1. Difficulty shifting gears.
2. Slipping or jerking during gear changes.
3. Overheating of the transmission.
4. Illumination of the Check Engine Light (CEL) or Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) on the dashboard.


Causes of the code P0848.

1. Faulty transmission fluid pressure sensor or switch “B”.
2. Excessive transmission fluid pressure.
3. Damaged or corroded wiring or connectors in the sensor circuit.
4. Intermittent short circuits in the sensor circuit.
5. Internal transmission problems.
6. Faulty transmission control module (TCM).


Code Solutions P0848.

1. Replace the transmission fluid pressure sensor or switch “B” if it’s found to be faulty.
2. Check and adjust the transmission fluid level if it’s too high.
3. Repair or replace any damaged wiring or connectors in the sensor circuit.
4. Secure and insulate any wiring harness issues to prevent chafing or rubbing.
5. Address any internal transmission issues if detected.
6. Check and, if necessary, replace the transmission control module (TCM) if other issues are ruled out.
