The P0583 trouble code indicates that the cruise control vacuum control circuit is experiencing low voltage. This circuit controls the vacuum system used by the cruise control to maintain a constant speed.

1. Inoperative cruise control system.
2. Difficulty engaging or disengaging cruise control.
3. Check Engine Light illuminated.


This code is common in brands such as:: Chevrolet, Renault, Ford, Toyota, Nissan, Mercedes Benz, Honda.

Causes of the code P0583.

1. Faulty cruise control vacuum control solenoid.
2. Damaged or corroded wiring or connectors in the cruise control vacuum control circuit.
3. Vacuum leaks in the cruise control vacuum lines.
4. Low battery voltage.


Code Solutions P0583.

1. Inspect the cruise control vacuum control solenoid for proper operation and replace if necessary.
2. Thoroughly inspect the wiring harness and connectors associated with the cruise control vacuum control circuit for damage or corrosion. Repair or replace any damaged components.
3. Check for any vacuum leaks in the cruise control vacuum lines and repair as needed.
