Code P0577 Symptoms, Causes and Solutions.

The P0577 trouble code indicates a high voltage condition in the cruise control input circuit. This code is set when the PCM (Powertrain Control Module) detects a voltage signal from the cruise control buttons or switches that is higher than expected.

P0577 Cruise Control Input Circuit High

Code symptoms P0577.

1. Inoperative cruise control system.
2. Difficulty engaging or disengaging cruise control.
3. Illumination of the Check Engine Light.

This code is common in brands such as:: Chevrolet, Renault, Ford, Toyota, Nissan, Mercedes Benz, Honda.

Causes of the code P0577.

1. Faulty cruise control buttons or switches.
2. Short to voltage in the cruise control input circuit.
3. Damaged or corroded wiring in the cruise control input circuit.
4. Poor electrical connections in the cruise control system.
5. Defective cruise control module.
6. Issues with the PCM.

Code Solutions P0577.

1. Inspect the cruise control buttons or switches for proper operation. Replace any faulty components as needed.
2. Check for any shorts to voltage in the cruise control input circuit. Repair any damaged wiring or replace any faulty components causing the short.
3. Thoroughly check the wiring harness and connectors associated with the cruise control input circuit for signs of damage, corrosion, or loose connections. Repair or replace any damaged wiring or connectors.
4. Use a multimeter to test the voltage in the cruise control input circuit. Ensure that the voltage is within the specified range. If it’s high, trace back to find the source of the high voltage.
5. If necessary, replace the cruise control module if it is determined to be defective.
