Code P2139 Symptoms, Causes and Solutions.

P2139 code indicates a discrepancy between the throttle or pedal position sensor voltage signals in a vehicle’s electronic control system.

P2139 Throttle/Pedal Pos Sensor/Switch D F Voltage Correlation

Code symptoms P2139.

– Engine hesitation or stalling
– Loss of power while accelerating
– Rough idle or difficulty starting the engine
– Illuminated check engine light with diagnostic trouble code P2139

This code is common in brands such as:: Chevrolet, Renault, Ford, Toyota, Nissan, Mercedes Benz, Honda.

Causes of the code P2139.

1. Faulty throttle position sensor (TPS)
2. Damaged or worn throttle pedal position sensor (TPPS)
3. Wiring or connector issues affecting communication between the TPS and TPPS
4. Corrosion or poor electrical connections within the throttle control system
5. Electronic control module (ECM) malfunction or programming error

Code Solutions P2139.

1. Check the wiring harness and connectors for any damage or loose connections related to the throttle position sensor or pedal position sensor.
2. Inspect the throttle position sensor and pedal position sensor for proper alignment and secure mounting.
3. Perform a throttle relearn procedure, as sometimes a simple recalibration can resolve the voltage correlation issue.
4. Test the throttle position sensor and pedal position sensor using a multimeter to ensure they are functioning within the specified voltage range.
5. If the issue persists, consider replacing either the throttle position sensor or pedal position sensor to rectify the voltage correlation problem.
