Code P2134 Symptoms, Causes and Solutions.

P2134 is a diagnostic trouble code that indicates an intermittent issue with the throttle or pedal position sensor or switch circuit.


P2134 Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor/Switch “F” Circuit Intermittent

Code symptoms P2134.

1. Engine stalling or surging.

2. Reduced engine power.

3. Unresponsive throttle.

4. Check engine light.


This code is common in brands such as:: Chevrolet, Renault, Ford, Toyota, Nissan, Mercedes Benz, Honda.

Causes of the code P2134.

– Malfunctioning throttle pedal position sensor
– Loose electrical connections in the throttle pedal sensor circuit
– Corrosion or damage to the throttle pedal sensor wiring
– Issues with the throttle control module
– Faulty engine control module (ECM)


Code Solutions P2134.

1. Check the throttle or pedal position sensor or switch wiring and connectors for any loose or damaged connections. Repair or replace as needed.
2. Inspect the throttle pedal and sensor for any signs of wear or damage. Replace if necessary.
3. Perform a throttle or pedal position sensor calibration or relearn procedure, following the manufacturer’s guidelines.
4. Clear the trouble codes with a scan tool and monitor the system to see if the problem recurs. If the code comes back, further diagnosis may be required.
5. Test the throttle or pedal position sensor or switch using a multimeter to ensure it is functioning within specifications. Replace if it is found to be faulty.
