– Check Engine Light illuminated on the dashboard

Causes of the code P0998.

1. Faulty shift solenoid “F”: The shift solenoid itself may be malfunctioning, causing it to send a low control circuit signal.
2. Wiring issues: There may be damaged or corroded wiring connections related to the shift solenoid “F” circuit, leading to a low voltage signal.
3. Poor electrical connection: Loose or poor connections between the shift solenoid “F” and the vehicle’s control system may result in a low control circuit.
4. ECM or TCM problems: Issues with the Engine Control Module (ECM) or Transmission Control Module (TCM) can impact the shift solenoid’s control circuit, causing it to register as low voltage.
5. Incorrect fluid level or quality: Low transmission fluid levels or poor-quality fluid can also affect the proper functioning of the shift solenoid “F” control circuit.

1. Check the wiring and connections for any damage or corrosion that may be affecting the shift solenoid “F” control circuit.
