Code P0759 Symptoms, Causes and Solutions.

The P0759 trouble code indicates an intermittent electrical fault related to shift solenoid B in the transmission. Shift solenoids are responsible for regulating the flow of transmission fluid to engage or disengage specific gears, allowing the transmission to shift smoothly between gears. Solenoid B typically controls the operation of the second gear. An intermittent electrical fault in this solenoid’s circuit can lead to various transmission issues, including harsh shifting, delayed shifting, or failure to shift at all.

Shift Solenoid “B” Intermittent

Code symptoms P0759.

1. Check Engine Light (CEL) illuminated on the dashboard.
2. Intermittent transmission shifting problems, such as harsh or delayed shifting.
3. Intermittent failure to shift into the correct gear or intermittent slipping out of gear.
4. Vehicle may occasionally go into limp mode to prevent further damage.
5. Intermittent decrease in fuel efficiency due to improper transmission shifting.

This code is common in brands such as:: Chevrolet, Renault, Ford, Toyota, Nissan, Mercedes Benz, Honda.

Causes of the code P0759.

1. Intermittent faults in the shift solenoid B circuit due to wiring harness issues, such as damage, corrosion, or a loose connection.
2. Intermittent poor electrical connections or terminals associated with shift solenoid B.
3. Intermittent faults within the Transmission Control Module (TCM) or Engine Control Module (ECM) causing communication errors or intermittent incorrect signals to the shift solenoid.
4. Other intermittent electrical issues within the transmission control circuit.

Code Solutions P0759.

1. Begin by inspecting the wiring harness and connectors associated with shift solenoid B for signs of intermittent damage, corrosion, or loose connections. Repair or replace any damaged wiring or connectors as needed.
2. Check the electrical connections and terminals related to shift solenoid B to ensure they are clean, secure, and free of corrosion. Tighten any loose connections.
3. Clear the trouble codes using a scan tool and test drive the vehicle to see if the issue occurs intermittently. Monitor the transmission’s behavior closely to identify patterns or triggers for the intermittent fault.
4. If the intermittent fault persists, further diagnosis may be needed, including checking the TCM or ECM for intermittent faults and verifying the integrity of the transmission control circuit.
5. If you’re not confident in diagnosing or repairing transmission issues, it’s advisable to seek assistance from a qualified mechanic or transmission specialist. They have the expertise and specialized equipment needed to diagnose and repair transmission problems effectively.
